1978 marked a watershed year for the study and appreciation of Organic Architecture with the seminal exhibit and conference An American Architecture, envisioned and curated by architect and author Brian A. Spencer. Among the many significant attendees and speakers at the conference was Bruce Goff, who spoke at length about his ideas, experience, and work. This special FOK journal is guest edited by Brian A. Spencer and not only publishes Goff's 1978 lecture given at the An American Architecture conference, but also contains numerous previously unpublished photographs and essays by Herb Greene, Bart Prince, Arthur Dyson, Jacques Gillet, Robert Alan Bowlby, Nelson Brackin, Michael P. Johnson, Tom Hart, Eddie Jones, and John Driscoll.
